7 Steps to Break Down Your Insurmountable Problem
Curious Friday: 1 idea, 1 lesson, 1 question for you to ponder

I have had a lot of 1-on-1 conversations with people from all walks of life in the last few years. The common issues that people are dealing with on their own – and often feel ashamed to share with others – are often related to their financials, relationships, lack of motivation or mental health.
If there is an issue that you are currently dealing with, I want to share these 7-step system to help you reframe it, and break it down. Solution consists of many incremental steps.
1. Acknowledge the situation and your feelings – Accept the reality and gravity of the situation and the intensity of your emotions.
2. Get off the victim seat, take responsibility and understand the root cause – Take time to understand the root cause of the issue. If your issue is related to financials, the cause is not that you made a bad decision and overleveraged, or the market is bad, or you missed the projection. The cause is your greed and you are responsible for it.
3. You’re not alone – We have all got stuck, getting stuck is part of life and a great way to learn. And there are many others who are either going through the same thing as you or who have gone through it previously.
4. Don’t reinvent the wheel – Humans have been around for more than three hundred thousand years. Your issue is not unique to you and solutions are ubiquitous.
5. Create a plan by breaking down the insurmountable problem into bite-sized tasks – Your focus shouldn’t be on getting rid of the issue overnight. Instead your plan should be about making small progress each day by completing bite-size tasks and following your trajectory toward the goal.
6. Celebrate small wins – Reward yourself for completing a small task each day. Wins happen any time of the day, not at the end of it.
7. Share your experience with others – Once you have a way out, share it with others. You have not really learnt the lesson fully unless you feel comfortable talking about it, and helping those who come after you so they too can repeat these seven steps.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Your issue is the result of your system. Focus on fixing the system, and not the symptoms. You don't rise to the level your goal. You fall to the level of your mindset, system and execution. Mindset, system and execution eat goals for breakfast.

Which of these 7 steps are you struggling with?
